Pay-and-display spaces

Pay-and-display spaces are mainly located on main roads in the town centre (see the map above).

On these streets, there is a charge for parking from 9am - 12pm and 2pm - 6pm. It is free on Sundays and French bank holidays.  All pay-and-display spaces are free for the first 15 minutes (take a ticket by pressing the green button on the ticket machine). Parking fees are €1 per hour.

"Coeur de ville", the town centre's covered car park

This shopping centre is located in the town centre (Boulevard Jacquard), and has 2 levels with 720 covered spaces in a guarded and well-lit area.    
The "Coeur de vie" shopping centre was recently built, and therefore has excellent disabled access within both the shopping arcade and the car park.
Top tip!  At "Coeur de vie", parking is free for the first 1.5 hours, even if you do not make any purchaces.

To help you when you visit the town, the main free parking areas are spread over Calais:

  • Town centre: Place du Soldat Inconnu (Town Hall), Quai du Rhin (next to Calais Ville station).
  • North Calais: Boulevard des Alliés, Boulevard de la Résistance, Esplanade Jacques Vendroux (next to the citadelle de Calais).
  • Calais Beach

Parking is free throughout the other towns in the Calais metropolitan area (Blériot Plage-Sangatte, Coulogne, Marck, Coquelles).
