"Dear Calais Tourist Board Team, My husband & I would just like to say what a great time we had this past weekend in Calais. The hotel we stayed in, the IBIS Styles was very nice, and our room had a lovely view over to the cathedral, and we could also see the lighthouse. We visited three of the museums with the pass you kindly gave us, and especially the Town Hall and Belfry, which was spectacular. We had some nice meals out, we went twice to the Hovercraft, good food and friendly service. All in all we had a fantastic stay in Calais and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would like to thank you very much for organising everything, and for the gifts in the welcome pack. We hope to return to Calais and explore more of your lovely city, in the near future. Once again, many, many thanks,"

"Dear Caroline, Following our visit to Calais at the weekend I'm just writing to say thank you very much for organising our stay for us. We had a lovely time. The hotel was perfect for us - very comfortable, excellent service and a delicious breakfast in the morning. We didn't manage to visit everything (we'll have to go back to see the rest) - but we did go o the Belfry in Calais and the excellent International Lace centre and our son loved the play area in the Parc Saint Pierre. We also went down the coast to Boulogne for a spot of lunch and to visit Nausicaa which again proved to be a big hit with our son. All in all it was a great weekend - and we'll certainly recommend the town as a place to visit, not just to pass through, to our friends and family. Even the weather was good - thank you for arranging that too! Best regards,"

"Thank you for a most enjoyable trip to Calais greatly helped by the information left for us in the hotel. The Hotel L’Escale was excellent and we spent time in the town as well as visiting the Lace Museum and the town hall/tower. Everywhere the staff were very kind and friendly and it was great to take time to explore the town that we often only pass through. We will have to visit again to see the WW2 Museum and Art Museum. Thanks again and best regards,"

"Thank you very much for our stay in Calais, it was very enjoyable albeit very Cold!!! On arrival in Calais we booked into the hotel and then walked into the centre to explore. We visited the town Hall and went up the bell tower. Although it was misty in the distance, the view from the bell tower was impressive and the council employee who took us up was very informative about the surroundings. We also visited the Fine Arts Museum. The next day we drove along the coast stopping at the Deux-Caps area and Wissant enjoying a walk at both places."

"Dear Caroline,

We had a really nice weekend in Calais. There were delays going out of the UK due to extra security checks, so despite arriving early for our ferry we had to get the following crossing. We headed straight to Cite Europe and did some shopping. Check in at The Ibis Styles Calais Centre was straight forward. Thank you for the wonderful information pack! The room was very comfortable and extremely clean. The hotel cleaning staff deserve credit for doing such a good job. We had a walk around town and to the seafront, followed by a very nice meal at Cafe Du Paris just along from the hotel. We spent the evening at the Family Pub opposite the hotel and met some lovely people from Birmingham that were in Calais doing charitable aid work. Easter Sunday was spent visiting the beautiful Town Hall. What a building! We went to the top of the belfry and enjoyed the views. We were very impressed with the staff that showed us round.

All in all, a very enjoyable stay! We were pleasantly surprised with what Calais town centre has to offer and would recommend it to family and friends. I would definitely stay at the Ibis again.

Thank you again for all your help. Take care."
