Cité de la Dentelle et de la Mode

Located in the Saint-Pierre district, the historic lace-making heart of Calais, the City of Lace and Fashion finds its setting in an authentic collective factory typical of the 1870s. The collections are spread over 2500 m2 divided into five galleries where the know-how and techniques, the uses and also the most contemporary aspects of lace (fashion, design, applied arts...) are evoked.
Throughout the year, numerous events punctuate the life of the City. Temporary exhibitions in the large glass roof, conferences and fashion shows in the auditorium, introductory workshops in lacemaking techniques and the
creation (fashion and design).

A documentation centre offers professionals and researchers a specialised library and a tissue library. The restaurant overlooking the inner courtyard of the Cité and the shop on the canal side make for a pleasant and friendly extension of the pleasure of the visit.
